MEET THE TEAM
Awais Sheikh is a management consultant in the Washington DC area, and focuses on strategic management and communications. He also has an MBA from Virginia Tech. Over the years, Awais has focused on bringing his management training to Muslim organizations as a member of the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS), as well as by providing training seminars for Islamic schools and MSAs around the region.
Hasnain Chowdhury is a graduate of George Mason University, and is currently pursuing further studies in Arabic and Islamic sciences in Cairo, Egypt. Hasnain's leadership background includes experience as the Chairman of the DC Council of MSAs, Vice President of GMU's MSA, Ameer of Qabeelat Nurayn, and as Co-founder and Director of The Friday Line-up, a Northern Virginia organization dedicated to serving high school MSAs in Fairfax and Loudoun Counties.
Dr. Ahmed Sidky was born in Cairo Egypt, where he graduated as Valedictorian, with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. He brings to us years of experience in leadership and Islamic activism on the local and national levels beginning as the vice president and then president of his local Muslim Students Association (MSA) chapter at Virginia Tech. 2004 was the start of his MSA National experience. Starting as East Zone Conference Co-Chair, he then moved to become the East Zone US Representative and then the Vice President USA of MSA National. His peaking experience includes delivering numerous Khutbas (sermons), Conferences Lectures, Workshops and Seminars to many different campuses from the east coast to the west coast. In particular, his Life Planning workshop has received an overwhelming positive feedback for having a real impact of the lives’ of its attendees.
Asif Akhtar graduated from Virginia Tech in 2010, where he served as treasurer, vice president and president of the MSA at the regional level. On a national level, he has served on a task force and is currently on the East Zone Committee. Asif also has a passion for working with youth and has often participated in Youth Leadership conferences and events with Muslim Youth of North America (MYNA) and local Masjid youth groups. A consultant by profession, Asif's passion lies in organizational development, group dynamics, teamwork, and coaching.
Imad Sheikh is a masters student at UMASS Lowell and completed his degree in Civil Engineering at Virginia Tech. Imad served as Vice President of Virginia Tech's MSA and is now a member of the Islamic Society of Greater Lowell (ISGL). His experience includes delivering Khutbas (sermons), Islamic Lectures, and facilitating numerous relief efforts for tragedy victims. Some of these include: several Fast-a-thons, Hokies for Haiti, and Pakistan Flood Relief.
Our team comes with extensive experience in leadership both in the private industry and with Islamic organizations. We have a good mix of experienced leaders that have contributed to mosques and schools as well as younger leaders that bring experience from their contributions to Muslim Student Associations.
